Specializing in Residential Real Estate

Q & A with Velma

Why Innovative?
I have been friends with agents from Innovative for over a year and the one thing about their office when I visit is that they are a bunch of busy bees working away but they always manage to have fun while doing it.  Also family seems to be a very big part of this company and even that is very important to me.

Best Real Estate memory…
Helping buyers who moved here from California buy their first home ever.  It was such an exciting process for them and me. Helping their dreams come true was truly a memorable moment.

Best advice for someone buying or selling a home…
Choose your agent wisely and trust them.  It’s not easy choosing an agent so make sure you click with them because that will make the process so much more easier on all of you.

What unique perspective do you offer to your customers?
I make the home showings an adventure.  It’s exciting for me as much as it’s for the customers to see the home of their dreams.

What do your customers like most about you?
My energy and excitement about real estate.  I truly love what I do and showing homes is my favorite part of real estate.

Describe a memorable situation in which you really had an impact on a customer?
I don't have one that sticks out.  I believe each time a customer works with me we end up impacting each other that helps us both have a successful transaction and a good relationship.

Where do you give your time and/or money?
Right now my time goes to my family.  I have a newborn and almost a three year old girl.  They keep me and my husband busy and time seems to fly.  I hope in the future to become more involved in mom networking groups.

Where is your favorite place to travel?
I have never been to Ireland and plan to visit there sometime soon.  I have enjoyed Sanibel Beach in Florida.  It was a beautiful area.

Name your favorite restaurant and why is it the best?
I don't have a favorite restaurant I just simply love to try new foods.

Name a book or movie that you love and recommend to a friend.
I read a little bit of everything but one book that sticks in my mind is Jenny McCarthy Belly Laughs.  I read it when I was pregnant with my first child and it is the funniest book I have read in a long time.  It made me laugh out loud so many times.

What is one thing you’ve always dreamed of having?
Yearly vacations with family.  Sometimes we get to busy with life that we forget to take time to recharge our batteries.  I think vacations can do that but try not to plan too much or keep a schedule it only stresses you out if you are running late.

Name someone who has been a role model in your life- and why?
Charlotte Helgeson is a friend and a mentor from MN that used to be my boss while I worked in a library during my teen years.  She just seems to be one of those people that keeps going and going no matter what life brings her.  She inspires me to keep going after my dreams.

Velma's Bio

I have lived in the beautiful state of Colorado since 2003.  Prior to that I was born and raised in Bosnia an Herzegovina but have lived in Grand Forks, ND with my family (my parents and my younger brother who is 21 year old)since 1994.   Six years ago just before our wedding my husband Cody and I decided that we would like to start our new life and family in Denver Metro Area.  We feel that Colorado is one of the most beautiful states in USA.
I have worked in several different fields before I found my passion in Real Estate.  As a teenager and into adulthood I worked as a Librarian, Sales Associate, Receptionist, Loan Processor and Case Manager for Adams County in the workforce department.  Also I have completed my Bachelors Degree in Technical Management with focus on Healthcare Management from DeVry University in 2006.  I started getting interested in Real Estate in 2006 and decided to get my license in 2007.
Currently my home is in Thornton Colorado.  I share it with my husband Cody and my two girls Leila and Maya.  We enjoy spending family time together by going to the park, watching movies, visiting family and friends, and reading books.
Getting to work in Real Estate has given me the freedom to be there for my family at all times and it has provided me with the ability to meet some wonderful people.  Helping clients sell or buy a home gives me that good feeling of knowing I have in some way helped someone else’s dreams come true.  It is a privilege to work with my clients and I am very thankful for that.
